On December 2, During the third and the final match between India and Australia held at Canberra, Kohli broke the record of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar by reaching 12000 ODI runs. Now he is the fastest cricketer to reach the mile stone. the 32 year old cricketer has added took a total of 242 innings to reach the figure.
Kohli needed only 23 runs to touch record and on Wednesday in the three day ODI match against Australia at Manuka Oval stadium, Canberra, Kohli reached it. Earlier on Sunday, during the same ODI matches against Australia, Kohli added another feather to his cap of completing 22000 runs in International innings.
Tendulkar had completed 12000 runs in 300 innings and following him were Ricky Ponting, Kumar Sangarkara, Sanath Jaisurya, Mahela Jayawardene.
2020 has not particularly been a good year for Kohli, after his poor performance in the IPL with the Royal Challengers Banglore and even the low performance in the ODI with Indian team suffering consecutive losses, this reach of milestone was sure a relief for Virat Kohli fans.
