Maharashtra reaches 64.8% in Covid vaccination for Health Workers.

The first phase in Maharashtra is seeming successful with the increasing numbers.

During the first phase of vaccinating health workers, Maharashtra stands at 64.8% turnout of targeted 1.12 lakh health workers. Districts such as Dhule, Hingoli, and Amravati have recorded an even better turnout of 80% of workers getting vaccinated. The initial days of the first phase saw a low turnout but as the days went by, the turnout increased.

The government is also recommended certain additional facilities to improve the turnout such as fixing glitches in the CoWin software ( the software to register oneself to get vaccinated), providing transport facilities- to and fro from the vaccination center, and educating people on the benefits of vaccination and removing the fear instilled in them. The Maharashtra government is currently giving the Covaxin by the Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
