Huge oxygen shortage hits Delhi, Kejriwal requests Modi to ensure smooth movement of oxygen tankers

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal requests Prime minister with folded hands for a smooth transfer of oxygen

Delhi has witnessed the highest ever single-day fatalities of over 300 deaths due to the Covid-19 virus in 24 hours on Thursday. The situation is critical and the oxygen supply to treat patients infected with the virus is grim. There is an acute shortage of the supply of oxygen throughout the city and hence today in a virtual meet with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Delhi CM has requested the PM to ensure that the movement of oxygen from the plants to the hospitals is smooth. He has also alarmed regarding a huge tragedy that might strike due to the shortage of oxygen.

He has also suggested that the Centre should take over all of the oxygen plants through Army and every truck carrying oxygen should be accompanied by an Army escort vehicle. He has also raised the point of airlifting oxygen to make it available sooner to the distressed.
