Flipkart, Amazon won’t deliver in Maharashtra till 30 April

E-commerce websites are now restricted to deliver essential items only

All e-commerce platforms have been now ordered to stop taking orders for non-essential products in Maharashtra. The apps of Flipkart, Amazon, JioMart, and Reliance Digital have stopped taking orders for non-essential items such as electronics, fashion, furniture amongst others. Amazon has requested the Maharashtra government to remove the guidelines and allow delivery of all products as classifying products as essential and non-essential is a difficult task.

Maharashtra is currently one of the worst affected states in the country with rapidly rising numbers and is currently strengthening curbs throughout the state as the hospitals are crowded and the medical facilities are depleting. The state is amidst a 15-day lockdown momentarily and has the imposition of section 144.
