For a very long time, BCCI was holding silence regarding whether Rohit Sharma was fit enough to play the Border-Gavaskar trophy. BCCI has now given an update regarding Sharma’s injury stating that he is at the rehab in National Cricket Academy. They have also stated that he would have to go through assessment before being declared ‘fit’ to play again. His next assessment will be conducted on December 11th.

In a notice released on Thursday, BCCI stated that Rohit Sharma had to come back to Mumbai after the IPL to attend his ailing father. His father is now recuperating well and that has allowed him to travel to the NCA and start his rehabilitation.
The notice also stated That Ishant Sharma had recovered from his side strain injury occurred during the IPL and now he is building up his workload to to achieve test match fitness. He is ruled out from the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
