During the on-going test between India and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground, some people in the audience were hurling racial abuses and unsolicited comments at Indian players. Indian bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohmmad Siraj heard them and the Indian team was quick to lodge complaint against the offenders.
The Australian Cricket Board has launched an investigation in this matter with the New South Wales Police and have apologized for the sour experience Indian players had to face on the ground. They have released a statement which says that this kind of behavior is ‘highly unacceptable’ and are promising to take strongest measures against anyone found guilty. They have apologized as hosts to the Indian team and have stated that the incident soured a otherwise excellent test match.
