Virat Kohli tweets about the incident, says its unacceptable and peak of rowdy behavior.

During the on-going test between India and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground, some people in the audience were hurling racial abuses and unsolicited comments at Indian players. Indian bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohmmad Siraj heard them and the Indian team was quick to lodge complaint against the offenders.

The Australian Cricket Board has launched an investigation in this matter with the New South Wales Police and have apologized for the sour experience Indian players had to  face on the ground. They have released a statement which says that this kind of behavior is ‘highly unacceptable’ and are promising to take strongest measures against anyone found guilty. They have apologized as hosts to the Indian team and have stated that the incident soured a otherwise excellent test match.

Racial abuse is absolutely unacceptable. Having gone through many incidents of really pathetic things said on the boundary Iines, this is the absolute peak of rowdy behaviour. It’s sad to see this happen on the field.
The incident needs to be looked at with absolute urgency and seriousness and strict action against the offenders should set things straight for once.
